Lovers of polo, equestrianism and extraordinary events met on Saturday, September 13, at the Velká Chuchle horse-racing track to watch the finale of the second annual international Hublot Prague Polo Cup polo tournament. Four teams vied for the 2014 title: Hublot, Assental Group, Moser and the winning team Saffron & Eden Island Seychelles.
The winning team of this year’s Hublot Prague Polo Cup tournament received not only the prestigious title, but also special prizes donated by the tournament partners. In addition to a magnum-sized bottle of Veuve Clicquot, one of the best champagnes, and a crystal trophy from the Moser glassworks, the team received a gold medal that was made by Prague Mint especially for the tournament.

The weather turned out well for event organisers, headed by Nina Popová, and over 600 fans of the “sport of kings”, as polo is also called, were in attendance. Polo is not only an extraordinarily attractive sport for spectators, but also a popular social event, where ladies can show off their most extravagant hats and head decorations. The prize for the most beautiful hat this year was awarded to Ms Naděžda Mitrofanova, who donned a creation by the Paris fashion house Dior.

The second annual international polo tournament Hublot Prague Polo Cup will be held tomorrow at the racecourse in Velká Chuchle. The tournament will be contested by the four teams Hublot, Assental Group, Moser and Saffron with Eden Island. Tournament Handicap has been set between -2 and +4. This year’s winning team will be presented with not just prestigious, but also with the extraordinary prizes awarded by Tournament partners. Next to the magnum size bottle of the finest Veuve Clicqout champagne and crystal cups by the traditional Moser Glassworks, this year voted as the most luxurious brand in the Czech Republic, the winners will receive gold medals, specially produced for the tournament by Pražská mincovna.

The tournament organizers have also joined forces with the leading brand in the world of polo — the sport in which high-quality equipment, such as bats, gloves, helmets, knee pads and riding boots are a necessity. This year’s exclusive supplier of professional equipment for Hublot Prague Polo Cup is the international brand La Martina.
